An experiment in storytelling.

In an age where storytelling is often polished to perfection before it ever reaches an audience, LightMinded Arts is launching a bold new experiment: The LightMinded Lab. This project is more than a podcast or YouTube series—it’s a creative laboratory where stories are built in real time, often from nothing more than a spark of imagination and a willingness to explore.
The concept is inspired by the storytelling legacy of Rod Serling, whose short-form radio dramas and later television episodes captivated audiences with their philosophical depth and emotional punch. LightMinded Labs takes that spirit and reimagines it for a modern audience—one that craves authenticity, creativity, and a peek behind the curtain.
Each episode of Inside the LightMinded Lab is a product of experimentation with me, Brent Lindstrom or an invited a guest—often a fellow creative, writer, or thinker—as we come together in a live story creation session. Without planning ahead, we’ll brainstorm, dictate, and shape a complete narrative in a single 60-90 minute session. The result is raw, unfiltered, and often surprising. These sessions are not rehearsed performances—they’re experiments in collaborative storytelling, where the process is just as important as the outcome.
But the journey doesn’t end there. Once the story is born, it is refined and transformed into a fully produced radio drama. These audio dramas carry the DNA of their creation sessions but are polished into immersive, cinematic radio-styled experience that can stand alone as short-form fiction. From sci-fi to surrealism, morality tales to emotional dramas, the genres vary—but the heart of each story remains rooted in the collaborative spirit of the lab.
What makes this project truly unique is its open creative philosophy. All participants retain non-exclusive rights to the stories they help create. That means guests and hosts alike are free to adapt, republish, or reimagine the resulting narratives in any format—novel, screenplay, comic, or otherwise. There are no strings attached, no compensation required, and no obligation to credit the other party (though mutual respect and acknowledgment are encouraged). It’s a model built on trust, generosity, and the belief that creativity thrives when it’s shared.
LightMinded Labs also serves a deeper purpose within the broader mission of LightMinded Arts: helping creatives escape the “struggling artist” trap. By showcasing the creative process, sharing lessons learned, and building community around storytelling, the project offers both inspiration and practical insight. It’s a space where ideas are tested, voices are heard, and stories are born—not in isolation, but in collaboration.
Whether you’re a writer looking for inspiration, a listener who loves behind-the-scenes content, or a fan of short-form fiction with a twist, Inside the LightMinded Lab offers something rare: a front-row seat to the creative process. And as the project evolves, so too will the stories, the guests, and the experiments.
The lab is open. The experiments have begun. And the stories are just getting started.
