None of that matters to Dick hu’Mar, a private investigator that’s too good for his own good. When he and his sour faced partner, an ugly stinking cat, get hired by two dames in dire need of a mystery solved, they find themselves plunged into the politics and danger of this pre-steampunk world where highly leathered brawn beats against brains every day.
With little time to work–love, lives, and money, most especially money are on short supply, hu’Mar must solve the case and if he can help it, avoid getting killed himself.
This Novel is a cross between the classic Noir style of hard-boiled detective, mixed with high fantasy, in a sword and sorcery sort of way, with the hints of a steampunk era nearly upon them. This is a clean read, but one that still has a comedic and sometimes dark humor.
